HexNest New Queen Foundry

HexNest Foundry is a Patent Pending formicarium tailored to the needs of new ant queens and their colonies, compatible with HexNest Branch formicarium and Cyst formicarium modules. Ventilation and hydration chambers are optimally positioned, while the mini outworld chamber has a convenient door for accessing food, water, sugars, and cleaning. This founding chamber is suitable for most ants, for further details see the Foundry User Guide. 

HexNest Foundry now comes with the following options:

• Substrate/No Substrate - A fine sand substrate is applied to the bottom of the Foundry. This provides several advantages for your queen ant. First, it provides a more natural surface for your queen and her workers. Secondly it helps to distribute humidity within the Foundry. 
• Clear/Red top - We now offer the option to purchase with a Red top or a clear top. Clear top allows you to clearly see how your colony is doing and also is better for video and photography. The Red top makes the queen and her workers feel more secure because ants cant see red. To them its dark and comfortable. You can see through the cover, but your colony cant see you. 
• Vented/Not Vented - Some species of ants prefer airflow within the nest. Some species prefer no airflow. With the Vented option, there are small slits cut into the acrylic and the blockers, however some very small species may be able to escape through these small gaps. The Unvented version does not have these openings and far more suitable for very small species. 

Included in kit:

• Fully assembled HexNest Foundry and an extra Interface Connector just in case something breaks.
• 1 Test Tube Adapter (Attach to your queens founding test tube to transfer her into the HexNest Foundry)
• 1 Tube Adapter1 Blocker Adapter (Use to transfer to non-HexNest Formicariums)
• 1 Blocker Adapter (Vented or Unvented) (Attach to seal off the port)
• 1 Interconnect Adapter (To connect the HexNest Foundry to a HexNest Formicarium to transfer your colony into the Formicarium)
• 1 Hydration Bottle (To fill the hydration chamber and maintain a healthy humidity level)
